Random pics

Amaryllis. My brother buys me, Mum and two of my mad Aunties an amaryllis bulb in a pot each for Christmas and we have a growing competition. Every time i talk to my Mum she says hers is bigger than mine. Now she's seen mine and I haven't seen hers, so the big question is... is she fibbing?
I don't get to sit on my new office chair. Willow has claimed it as a comfy place. We're gradually coming to an arrangement: if I need to sit down, I can pick her up but I have to cuddle and stroke her, so I can't actually do anything else with my hands. We're working on it.
Cuteness personified. Don't leave an open box of fleece lying around if you don't want a cat in it.

I promised I wouldn't, but....

...I couldn't help going past the heel of one sock while the others languish back up there on the leg. Naughty Lucy. Gorgeous sock though.
Having difficulty posting pics to blogger tonight (expletive deleted) so will leave it at the one. I have Willow pics that I'll try to do tomorrow. Just enjoy the sock porn. Mmmm.... Koigu....

Poetry

I just rediscovered this poem (in Italian) in an Italian copy of Winnie-the-Pooh that I was showing to El Lodgero (our lodger, Simon). I read it out to my darling hubby and translated it, going a liitle bit misty-eyed, because Winnie-the-Pooh is a Dad thing. Then, spookily, I switched on the computer and read about the Second Annual Brigid in Cyberspace Silent poetry reading at both Cara's and Stephanie's blogs. Isn't life odd? So here's my contribution.
I've always loved it, just because it says so much whilst seeming to say so little.
To her
Hand in hand we come
Christopher Robin and I
To lay this book in your lap.
Say you're surprised?
Say you like it?
Say it's just what you wanted?
Because it's yours
Because we love you.
A.A. Milne
