New project, old wool

I've had this pile of blue felted tweed in the stash for a long time, and finally found the perfect pattern for it, as well as the motivation to knit it. I did have to buy one ball in a contrast colour (I chose light grey) to do the pattern. I'm not sticking closely to the pattern, since the felted tweed has a wildly different gauge, but hopefully it'll still look good. I even swatched! No, I am not ill. I don't think. I even made it a decent sized swatch and included part of the fair-isle pattern! Maybe I'm finally developing some sense and patience...

Blurry photo this one, but it does at least demonstrate that I've started, and done the bottom band. I'm not sure how many rows plain to do before the pattern. Hmmmm....

Noro knitting mania

I'd love to show a pic of the lovely aeolian shawl, maybe moving on to the next chart... but I can't. I haven't knit any more. I have been feeling the pull of Noro...
The stripy scarf is finished: isn't it lovely? If only I would think more carefully about the background of my photos... General mess isn't that interesting.
Final size: 55.5" long, 5" wide. A small scarf, but funky and colourful. It will jazz up a dark winter coat nicely.
The other Noro knitting going on: the spiral blanket, now reaching 52" square, but still not halfway to the goal of approx. 6ft square.
It's now too big to cart about, though I've been knitting it in the car for lack of another simple project, I need to relegate it to sofa knitting now and find another simple project to knit on the go. I'm not feeling particularly socky right now. Ideas?

Sharing can be very rewarding

Willow and I have reached a compromise. The spiral blanket has reached a size (about 4ft square) where we can both enjoy it. Willow sleeps, and I knit. It works much better this way round than the other way...
Mine! Get your own... don't know why you have to keep knitting anyway, it's plenty big enough for me!
Getting quite blanket-like now (cat included for scale). This means it's cumbersome (I took it to a new meeting of knitters in Gloucester tonight, but it's not portable really), but warm and cosy across your lap whilst knitting...and it's big enough now to cover my toes! So this winter, I will be kept warm by the blanket as I continue to knit. I like that.
