Willow and I have reached a compromise. The spiral blanket has reached a size (about 4ft square) where we can both enjoy it. Willow sleeps, and I knit. It works much better this way round than the other way...

Getting quite blanket-like now (cat included for scale). This means it's cumbersome (I took it to a new meeting of knitters in Gloucester tonight, but it's not portable really), but warm and cosy across your lap whilst knitting...and it's big enough now to cover my toes! So this winter, I will be kept warm by the blanket as I continue to knit. I like that.
